Dave,

Yes, I am interested. In addition to the photos posted, please take photos
if you can, including details of:

*  VIN Plate

*  Fisher Body Tag

*  Door Sills

* Horn slots (front lower corner of car)

*  Dash

* Interior (door panels, seat upholstery, mat or carpet, rear cargo area

*  Trunk, including mat

*  Tires (if original)

*  Dome light

* Undercarriage (if you can get it up on a lift or something similar)

*  Glove Box stickers

* Any other areas of interest, especially those unique to the earliest
Corvairs.

I would like to get together photos and stories of all the known surviving
very early Corvairs (running and not) and put together a special edition of
the "Taking Stock" newsletter featuring them.

I heard somebody mention that they knew of an even earlier Corvair
(#300-something) in a state of disrepair - if anybody knows of such a car or
others, I would like to include their stories and pictures if possible,
along with #s 407 and 428.

Thanks!

Bill Hubbell

Editor, "Taking Stock"

If you guys are interested in #428 (next in line?), currently owned by our
Cathy McCafferty in Massachusetts.

I've got some photos on the Bay State Corvair Club page at:

If you have any questions, let me know and I can get answers, more photos or
whatever.

Hi Kent, Pat (Jerry's widow) and their son Bryce are both very active in the
DACC family, Pat takes her '61 coupe, the car she and Jerry took on a 5000
mile western vacation a few years ago, to the local cruise nights and car
shows. I can set up a date with one or both of them to get pictures and
data from 407. They live west of Ann Arbor about 30 miles from the museum.

Kent,

Wish we COULD " get in touch" with Jerry, He's deceased. (Don't know whether
to laugh or cry over that one.... ) The car's the property of the family.

I didn't get this done. I was gone all day yesterday on side trips.

Pete or Clark, do you know how to get in touch with Jerry? We could try to
take some photos later this afternoon (Saturday) or Sunday morning, if he's
available.

I have created an album of 1960 Corvairs - several cars are studied,
starting from the front and moving to the rear. All but one is reasonably
Stock, and that other one still has a lot of stock parts

http://rides.webshots.com/album/560043731YzDnRG

I was going to copy this to "Caveman Corvairs", the 1960 Special Interest
Group, but I don't see a contact listed for them on the CORSA site. Does
anybody know if they are still in existence?

The other individuals copied are owners of the cars pictured, so far as I
know their names and e-mail addresses.

I am hoping that Kent Sullivan will get photos of the very early 1960
Corvair parked in the Lobby of the host hotel at the convention this week.
Unfortunately, I had to come home yesterday and the owner was not able to
show it to me before today.
