[SCG] FW: '62 vin

Hi folks,

 

Troy was able to take some helpful photos, which are attached. the engine
code shot is a little hard to read, Troy also sent that in email: T0808ZH.
He said that the PCV system is not present, as you can see in one of the
photos.

 

Anything else to look for?

if that car was originally a california delivery, it would have the ca. only
pcv system on ot which differes in detail from the 63-65 type.

Any '62 aficionados out there? Troy Hull (on Cc: line), a member of my local
club, discovered that he and his Dad have the 67th 1962 Corvair built in
Oakland. He is happy to take photos of it for stock documentation purposes
but I don't know what might be interesting to capture, besides the obvious
VIN and Fisher Body tags.

 

Anyone out there aware of oddball things, particularly on early-production
'62s (and/or Oakland-built cars), that Troy should check out and photograph?

Hello Kent, 

I was reading some VINs from cars in our parts department. I discovered a
California built '62 Monza coupe with the VIN #209270100067. build date 08D.
Is this car the 67th built?  Is this possibly the oldest remaining
California built '62? The car is rusted out  junk, but we'll spare it from
the crusher and let it rust in peace if it really is the 67th one built.
Also did they build Corvair cars in the US anywhere but Willow Run and
California? Because I saw two different cars on ebay from two different
sellers with a K in the VIN instead of a W or a O. Just wondering!
