I like the original poster have an all original 65 Corsa with a little over
89,000 miles on it and other than the repaint the original owner did in the
80's, normal wear items, and the stock exhaust being replaced with Clark's
custom exhaust extractors, to take advantage of the porting that was done
when I had the original heads refurbished after dropping a valve seat. As
it sits, it is a very good running, safe car to drive, but has the normal
door dings that show up after 20 some years after the previous paint job,
which was in the original color for the car, The interior is still all
original, as is the original AM/FM radio with rear speaker, telescoping
steering wheel, and all glass is the same tinted glass that came with the
car. The headliner is still in great condition, but the some of the seats
and carpet have stains I haven't been able to get out. There is only one
stitch seam on the driver seat back at the top that is coming undone. I
enjoy driving the car as is, but at shows it get little respect. There
seems to be more of a push by other antique auto clubs to keep these so
called "survivor cars" and they have special categories for that. The idea
is that once you restore a car it is no longer original and you can't go
back. They feel there is or will be a need for survivor cars in the future,
to be used as a reference as to what stock was/is. Hemming's Classic Car
Magazine is also a big proponent for this type of recognition.

As it is I've stopped going to shows with my car and just enjoy driving it
the way it is, rather than getting shunned/ignored at the car shows.
