[SCG] Late Model RH Outside Mirror

I drive a Corvair every day and try to keep them stock.  I really miss
having a right side outside rearview mirror and I know that you could get
one stock.  The thing is, I don't think I've ever owned a Corvair with one
and didn't see any with one at yesterday's local club meeting (Philadelphia
Corvair Association).  The repro mirrors don't come with a template.

So, my question is, where does the mirror go?  Is is exactly the same
distance back from the front of the door or did they move it a bit front or
back to make up for the fact that the driver is looking across the car to
the mirror?
