Thanks for the chart. Coding CJ it is for windshield since this would be November 1965. I have found out that Pilkington glass now owns Libby Owings Ford glass and since there is no problem with copyright laws they can accept all the correct letters/numbers etc. with the LOF insignia and etch the identical pattern into a windshield. It can then be purchased clear or shaded & tinted. Pilkington glass can be found at many auto glass suppliers throughout the United States. My local glass shop will be able to handle this reproduction. This is good news for all Corvair owners that want to replicate their original windshield. Price should be in the $200-$300 range.

(adding Bill)

Hi Tom,

Canadian Corvairs have Canadian-produced glass, so the codes are different. (Different manufacturer altogether.)

However, I happen to have a handy document that Bill Hubbell put together some years ago. It’s attached…

Hope this helps,

My intent is to put a numbers matching windshield back into my 1966 Corsa Coupe. Years ago, my father replaced the windshield with an aftermarket "Guardian" windshield. My coupe has tinted glass with the following original glass letters:

Left and right door glass - UJ

Right rear glass - UJ

Left rear glass and rear glass - CJ

Right vent window - VG-6

Left vent window - YJ-6

Does your glass has similar letters? What coding did you go with on your windshield? Most of the 1965 November/December produced Corvairs at the Ranch have aftermarket windshields in them.
