Greetings!!

I trust this email finds all of you well and enjoying the last few days of summer. Okay.....what I really mean is looking forward to being able to get outside and participate in events that don't require air-conditioning.

You may or may not recall that Gene Barr sent us all an email a few months ago about a great location he found to possibly hold our 2004 SECC event. No one answered Gene.

So what I would like to do is open the emails up to discussion. Gene has found a great location. The cost of the facility is $200 and there is a road course already in place, as well as a huge parking lot for strictly and autocross if we wanted to do it. Secured facility so trailers can stay overnight.

What's nice about this is we can do this on our own. We don't have to pay someone $1500 plus, plus to set this up. We have enough talent amongst all of us to do this on our own. I'm not knocking Gulf Coast Autocrossers (GCAC), but why should we lay out that kind of $$$ if we don't have to. We stand to make a substantial profit from this location of Gene's. Enough so that we can consider purchasing our own timing equipment and then be able to do what GCAC does down there. We can now be the ones hosting the events and making money. We could conceivably have enough money in a short period of time to be able to rent out Sebring, Daytona, etc.

I have done some ground work here in the Daytona to see if any other clubs are intrested in joining us. The VW club is all over this, the Porcshe club in Jax in interested. There are lots of car clubs in Central and North Florida that have no place to run. This is great news for them.

We can make this a two day event. Saturday any and all types of cars can run and on Sunday we can make it a Corvair only day. There is a hotel about 5 miles away and they have said a rate of $59 or so and that comes with a continental breakfast. Lots of shopping and scenic things to do for significant others who aren't into racing.

Now is the time to get started with this. Let us know your thoughts!!!
