[V8Vairs] Accelerator Hookup

My car, while being finsished, has or has had some "just enough to work"
things
on it. Like the accelerator. Right now it has a morse cable running from
the bellcrank in the tunnel pan to a homemade bracket that holds the morse
cable end holder. Then it pulls on the arm on the Quadrajet.
Problem is I am not getting the secondaries to open. Also it needs a
rediculousy strong return spring. There is not much
adjustment that can be made.
Calculating the travel I need using lever length, and degrees to open the
carburetor, I need 2.2 Inches. I think I am seeing 1 1/2 max.
I am thinking extending the bellcrank arm on the cable end, to get more
movement. Or shortening the arm on the carburetor.
I am wondering what others use, the morse cable seems pretty common in
this application. What sort of brackets and connections etc are being
used, and work well? Any
pictures and or suggestions would be great.

Thanks
Geoff Johnson
