The other variable is the number of teeth on the flywheel - Chevy used 153  
or 168, as I recall. It depends on the clutch disk size - 10.5" used 153, 11"  
used 168. You have to match the flywheel with the starter location. ( The 
larger  flywheel/ring gear sticks out more) - Seth
