One other note on the GM TPI systems. With stock manifolding, the systems  
are noted for great low-end torque. They do tend to run out of breathing at a  
bit over 5000 RPM. That is probably okay for Corvair use, but be cautious with  
that low-end torque, neither the Crown nor the Kelmark set-ups are noted  for 
their torque capacity, and the low-end is where shock loading will hurt the  
worst. I always thought the perfect V8 Corvair engine would be a combo of a 
302"  Crank (large journal 69 Z28) and a 307" Truck block (4-bolt mains and 
thick  cylinder walls). Displacement 283"! and a pair of small turbos. Plenty of 
top  end and little torque to blow differentials apart.  -  Seth
