[V8Vairs] Posi or Non Posi - Which is Better for a Crown Conversion?

Given the relatively fragile Corvair ring gear, a four spider gear set-up makes sense for a 
  V-8.  All other things equal, does a posi-traction unit increase or decrease the possibility of ring gear failure?
