[V8Vairs] Recent purchase of V8Vair

We pulled it back - I was short on time. And I agree, it is well
constructed, drives well, runs strong. Like any muscle car or hot rod, it
has a few maintenance issues that have arisen over time which I shall
address.

I've watched Ebay and several car sales magazines over the last while
looking at what I've seen available and the overall set-up of the car, the
components used, and as you say the thought put into the build made an
impression on me.

I've wanted a Corv-8 since I read about Ted Trevor's conversion when it was
first published in Hot Rod magazine (I was driving a '65 Corsa 140 then) and
always said I would end up with one. Granted, I could have built one but
time gets away from you and the next thing you know, it's gone. So when I
saw this one, I knew it was the one - you could say it spoke to me.

And since it is yellow with black stripes my wife has named it "Bumblebee".
Ironically, we spent the night in Champaign, Illinois and the next morning I
turned on the TV in the hotel room and what pops up? Jerry Seinfield's "The
Bee Movie". Twilight Zone, man!

Lonnie:

Did you pull the Corvair back? Or did you drive it? Mikie always put a
lot
of thought in to revisions he made, and I always thought he did them
correctly. I didn't know him until he had "Sunshine".
