[V8Vairs] Stock shift lever ...

  This was part of an article published in the "street machine" 
  magazine...authored by Robert D. Hegge. The section 
  I quoted was on stock shift linkage vs. Crown's... 

  Pat Maceli, based on this article, built the first V8 powered mid-engine "vair 
  with the tranny flipped and mounted to the rear of the '66 Corvair 
  transaxle. This was long before any kits of this type were on the 
  market...

  Quite an interesting piece... [at least 4 me] :)
