[V8Vairs] re-Crown shift linkage

..Dennis,get the car up,at least on the left side so you can slide under,and have a helper sit inside to 'shift'..select 2nd or 4th,then pull the small diameter pin from the coupling to the solid shaft from the trans case,see if you can 'pull' the shaft out-FORWARD- a bit more with the tube/coupling out of the way..if so,it's an adjustment issue with the tube assy..if it has the stock Corvair 'floor shifter',there's probably slop/play in the internals that would stack up..jamming the shifter into 2nd can cause the coupling end to slide apart,and will put the 'neutral gate' off center in the stick/aluminum housing : with trans in neutral,the stick MUST BE centered and straight up,held there, and then the coupling sleeve adjustment made just ahead of the trans..
