[V8Vairs] Perfect Engine for V-8 Corvair

I love pulling moderately hard shifts with my 350 est hp @375.
The way I saw things there were 3 solutions to my 2 broken Crown cases and 3 wasted diffs

1) Shift easier
2) Less torque (smaller zingier engine)
3) Stronger stuff (big car case)

I have done 1 & 3 with tremendous success . Less engine was not the direction I was going.

How do you know?  What engine did you have?  What engine do you now have?  Did you  change your driving habits?

Inquiring minds...

Low torque high revs are preferred, torque brakes things, ask me how I know

I've often thought a 302 of the Z28 type would be ideal with its high
RPM capability. But that high RPM shocks the transaxle a lot during
spirited driving. Now I think a low RPM 383 stroker would be ideal since
it doesn't have to be revved to accelerate from low speed and can still
reach 7-8000 RPM.

The LS engines are surely the best technologically and if one is not
vintage racing are probably the hottest thing going today. 4-500
horsepower easily with lightweight aluminum block and heads. What's not
to like?
