[V8Vairs] Billet Shifter for a Crown?

I had a B&M unit from another top loader tranny in my car when I got it, it worked well. 

I have pics but on a different putr.

Has anyone ever used a Clark's billet shift coupler (C181A) as part of the shift linkage in a Crown conversion?  
 
Did it make an improvement?
