I'm not that active on this list but I do see how antiquated this mailing list has become and really wish it would be moved to a modern forum that can be used easily, where pics can be uploaded or hosted and most importantly where previous data can be searched without so much frustration.

I am active on corvaircenter.com but that site is very out of date. It is not easy to search and has no sub forums so everything is all rolled into one big forum where much of it gets lost in the noise.

Has anyone considered corvairforum.com? It is set it up with very specific forums including a section just for guys like us. You will have to sign up to see all of the images if you click the links below but it is a site which is much easier to use and search. It also had much more visual appeal to the younger crowd that we need to keep this group alive. You can also edit your own posts if you make mistakes or want to update information.

Here is a link to the Special Interest V8-V6 forum.

Here is a link to my Toro V8 thread in that forum.

I'm not saying that corvairforum is the answer but certainly that type of forum is a much better solution.

This forum is a wonderful example of why. If you have an active forum, with the ability to post pictures, you already have everything you need to drive an active community. Things of interest kick off discussions and things that aren't of interest, don't. Being able to reference our website with the individual cars provides a visual way to expose ideas and proof points for different engineering approaches. The V8 site was a huge help in getting me started on my own car. I may have misunderstood your message, so I apologize if I'm off topic, but I feel like the best combination for our club is to have an active forum to drive the community and a good website to expose all the great work people do in building these cars.

I agree! In my ideal world, we would talk the owner of the Corvair
Center (Corvaircenter.com) into activating one one of the alternate
forums for V8 vair use. It's a terrific site and a very simple
interface that offers imbedded or off-site photos, grouped threads, and
keeps current threads at the top. I think it's fantastic. There is
also a spot for "members rides" with pictures and descriptions much like
we had before.
I wonder how to go about asking Royce (the owner) and I wonder how this
would sit with everyone on this current email list?
