[V8Vairs] LM V-8 Performance Numbers

In  response to a request from Joe Dunlop I posted the following Virtual Vairs and at Jon Lanning's suggestion I am posting the info to the V8vair list.  I also am interested in knowing the numbers for other conversions.

Does anybody know of a reasonably priced GPS type device that would provide information of car performance...maybe even a smart phone app? 

The following info was provided by Don Sherman (currently the Technial Editor for "Car and Driver") for an article he wrote for "Automobile" when he worked for that magazine.

Top Speed  130  @ 6,500  rpm

Weight  2,485

Engine  283  estimated horsepower  300

Differential ratio  3.55  

The above numbers were taken about 4 years ago.  Since then I fixed the dragging brakes, lightened the car by about 80 pounds, and greatly improved the shifter operation so the current numbers should be a little better.
