<VV> radio speaker

I'm told, despite the fact that I found a 10-ohm Delco 4 x 10 in my own 66
(and continue to run a 4 x 10 there) that 6x9 is the stock size for this
speaker.
Clark's sells a replacement speaker for your application (hate to seem
unimaginative). Their catalog doesn't say whether it's a 6 x 9, nor state
its impedance, but that speaker will work - probably well. A 4-ohm speaker
won't damage the radio provided you don't play it too loud - in other words,
it CAN damage the radio, which isn't good. Run in the way that would damage
the radio, it would sound terrible, but you never know what some people will
do (nor why, obviously).
     While I think you'll find 4 x 10 ONLY in 4-ohm, I have seen 6 x 9s
(Clark's?) in 9.5 (read, 10) ohms, and you MIGHT even find that size in 8,
which would be better than 4.

I need advice on a radio speaker. The 1966 Raffle Car's AM push Button
radio has a decal or ink stamping (forgot which) that states it must be
hooked up to a 10 ohm speaker. The only 4 X10 speaker Radio shack in this
town sells is 4 ohm.

Question one) Will using a 4 ohm instead of a 10 ohm damage the radio?

Question two) The speaker in the car isn't original in that it looks as if
someone did a splicing job on the wires. That being the case, is 4 X 10
even the correct size speaker?

Please respond with good solid advice...time's a running out for me to get
this massive project done.
