Or find a car with the glass you want-that will fit- and then adapt the
regulator/channel system. You could use lexan and it can be formed and
cut
to size. It does scratch somewhat easily. Would be pretty cool
looking.

Smitty says: Mark there is nothing wrong with having an imagination and
acting on it but you are doomed to failure. Not only (in my opinion) is
it dumb to get rid of one of the nice features of the "prior to 60s"
cars
but the odds of getting a window of the right curve to fit the opening
is
awful. The window must be made of laminated or tempered glass (if it is
to be glass). You can not cut tempered glass and either that or
laminated glass would have to be factory made to order. Hope you have a
bundle of money if you go forward with the project.

Its true that the glass has to be cut before it is tempered but the vent
wing glass is small enough that float glass could be used as long as it
is thick enough and all the edges are channel secured. Please bear in
mind that if this project is being taken on for appearances, that the
annealing process changes the appearance of the glass as well and float
glass (and especially lexan) will look slightly different than the
tempered glass, especially if it is flat next to the curved window The
best option is to have the glass cut and then tempered but you'll still
need channels (or something) to hide the tong marks and like Smitty sez:
take your checkbook.
