Ron, sure you can have A/C on a turbo car, it just
takes some effort! The trunk style condenser systems
lend themselves best for the turbo application due
mainly to space. Finch shows pics in a small section
of his book of one of my cars ('64 Spyder) and a
sealed trunk mounted condenser. Even though I pulled
the turbo out and put a 140 in, the system would have
worked nicely with either set-up.

With the condenser out of the way, that leaves you
with the compressor, brackets, pulley, 90 degree oil
filter adapter, and 2 fittings in the engine
compartment (I stock and sell of of the items BTW!).
The modern Sanden compressor and our 2-Carb compressor
bracket will bolt right on your turbo. Best of all,
cheap R-134 works great in this set-up. It just takes
a little work to get it all in.

I just scanned the two books on installing AC in a
Vair (Finch and
Riley) and
found scant mention of AC with a turbo. Is it done?
Are there any
special
problems if it is?
I have a nice AC system and could install it either in
a 110 sedan or a
180
Corsa, maybe.
