<VV> 140-PG MPG?

The needle on my gas gauge (on the convert) would go all the way to the
temp/pres light at fillup, but was accurate after about 3 to 4 gallons had
been used. I didn't like it and changed the sending unit out for a "new"
old stock unit. Now the needle ALMOST touches the full mark when full. It
drops rapidly... making it appear that my mileage went all to heck. But,
when it gets to E, I still have 4 gallons left in the tank. So, what I'm
suggesting is that it just might be his gauge giving him a false impression
of gas usage. The only way to know for certain is to keep good records for
several fill ups.
