Geeze, how soon we forget .... only 5 years ago, upon a misfiring engine, we
just automatically put in a new fuel pump, that was always it ... (g) ....
Especially if it worked at slow speeds, but not at fast speeds .... well,
fuel filter is suspect also.... anyway, when we say " turbo " that doesn['t
mean the problem is anything exotic ... just cover the basics first.

***The worst exotic problem with the turbo is that rascally YH carburetor
... they tend to flood you out after a hot stop, and won;'t start for 1/2
hour ( just set there and wave to everyone, it will start when it dries out
... ) or, a more minor irritation, the power shot assembly leaks and there
aint no power shot ) In this case the engine will run ok at full throttle
at high car speeds, but there is a big flat spot upon sudden throttle
application.

to test for this, at normal cruising off boost, just very very very slowly
feed in throttle until you are going zinging along at high speed with some
boost on. you won[t need the power shot feature for this, and it will
accelerate pretty smoothly. Now try it using about 3 seconds to feed in the
throttle. If you get a flat spot, suspect the power shot; but don[t let it
knock and ping to excess .... you are in a lean condition ...

Anyway, remember the bad fuel pump period went on for about 15 years the way
I remember it (g) ... I had a dozen of them for my 4 or 6 'vairs during
that time.
Just some thoughts, ken campbell at delta.
