<VV> Oil Cooler Question (Efficiency)

I recently acquired a '64 spyder coupe in very good condition. The
engine was rebuilt in 1985 by rear engine specialists, but that's not
the point. I took off the oil cooler cover to clean it out and noticed
it has the folded-fin type oil cooler rather than the 12-plate cooler.
I have heard of people saying that the folded fin is the most
efficient, but I would like to know if this cooler is ok or should be
replaced with the 12-plate type.
