It's always possible that some gas was added along the way!!!  The only way 
to be absolutely sure would be to use locking gas caps and have the Chairman 
hold the keys.
We would all hope that that wouldn't be necessary among Corvair friends.

I have seen out and out cheating in road races run on foot.  I have run 
several hundred of them and have seen people cut short on out and back courses in 
order to win a prize.  I was in the Boston Marathon when Rosie Ruez took a 
short cut years ago!
The best way to run the event would be to devise a sealer that would tell if 
it had been tampered with.  If the driver will not get out of the car for the 
filling, he should forfeit the prize.
Too bad we have problems like this when we are trying to have some fun - -
