<VV> Early Model Compass and Clock Locations

I believe that the compass was only an option for coupes, it was not
available for Verts....something to due with needing the roof for it too
work correctly..

I seem to remember this from research on my 63 vert but it was few years
ago...and I may be completely wrong..

Will the compass fit below the rear view mirror in a convertible? Was
