When it comes to steering wheels, contact Rich Thompson for absolutely
beautiful results. He is what I would call an expert. He did mine and I was
thrilled. He is also the owner and restorer of the nicest award winning 64
Spyder around. See

His email is Richard.W.Thompson@usa.dupont.com

He is gone frequently for work so it may take a little time to get a hold of
him.

Good luck!

Subject: <VV> Tacky Steering Wheel

My '63 convertible's original steering wheel is rough to the touch on the
top side, where I suspect UV rays have degraded the plastic. In rainy
weather that area gets tacky and leaves black residue on the hands.

Has anyone restored one of these? Any tips on how to salvage it?

Of course, it also has the requisite cracked spokes near the hub from
push-starting. ;-)
