Believe me, Hank, I'm familiar with these ones, too.  What I think are the
original (at least non-deluxe) mirrors are  painted, maybe the same color as
the stripe, have a mount with a triangular base, and are round or
rectangular (?) .  I'm not a FC expert, either.  If you look at the
Greenbier on P. 12 of Bob Helt's book, the passenger side has a pretty good
picture.
