I finally came across one of the will-not-work Purolator L20014 oil filters on a customer's car this week. Oil was leaking around the new style outer seal, which gets cut when tightened. The owner had another filter in the trunk in the same style box (the multicolored one) with the same number, but it had the correct gasket.
