There are Waste Oil Heaters that are UL listed and EPA certified.  Examples
can be found at energylogic.com/

If you have "lots" of waste oil, it might make economic sense if you own a
shop that has the square footage to make it worthwhile to purchase a furnace
designed to burn waste motor and vegetable oils.  These waste oil furnaces
have a fuel pre-heater which is necessary for efficient combustion.  Heat
makes the oil thinner.

Because of the metallic deposits(bearing lead, copper etc) and chemicals,
states have strict laws governing the use of waste oil in furnaces.  You
have to check with your state's EPA or equivalent to find out if they are
permitted.
