I've got a '65 500 coupe 23,000 miles on it. I've put new plugs and wires on
it. The car starts and runs, but when I drive it around the block, there is
not power. All cylinders are firing. It feels like there's no vac advance.
Anyone have a n idea what to look for next?

Throttle problem? Did you have someone press the accelerator pedal to the
floor while watching the carb's throttle plates to see if they are vertical?

No VA??......wouldn't make that much difference.....

1 when you changed wires..did you accidentally move them 1 hole CW?? [
retarded]

2 Have you checked timing? at idle....at 2000...at 4000 rpms [ will tell if
mech adv. and V adv. is working... SB 14-16 btdc @ idle 25 at 2000 [
no load / high vacume]....30 plus at 4000 [ no load /high vacume]......notch in
pulley should be 1-1/2" to the right of the timing mark boss..or more..
