<VV> PG Shift Point Adjustment Solved!

I recently posted a question to the group about adjusting the shift point on
the PowerGlide transmission in my '64 Monza...We had removed numerous parts,
including the cross-shaft that links the carbs and the accelerator rod...When
we replaced it, something was obviously wrong as the car would not upshift
until about 40 mph...Through some good advice from friends and here on VV, I
managed to fix the problem by disconnecting the spring from the accelerator
shaft where it joins the left carb...I then adjusted the swivel that holds the
rod to the cross-shaft by turning it and moving it toward the end of the
shaft...I moved it in 1/4 inch increments and would then reconnect everything
and drive the car...It took about three tries, but the shift point finally
came down to around 20-22 mph which seems comfortable, although still a bit
above the recommended 12.5 mph under minimum throttle (Page 6E-27 in the Shop
Manual)...I might try to lower it a bit more tomorrow, but for now I have
learned how to fix the problem! Thanks to all who helped out...
