I agree with Eugene [Ed]....almost any additive will probably "free up the 
rings".....ATF...Berrymans B-12, etc....

The main thing is give it time!

The original "ImmortalVair engine filled the garage with exhaust smoke abd 
BLOWBY!!  I set the revs to 2500 rpm  and walked away.....3 hrs; later...no 
smoke / Blowby was reduced to negligible!

I used 2 qts ATF...and ran it for2000 miles...had to ad a couple of qt's 
along the way...some leakage....

Changed to 20-50  and drove 600 HOT [ 105 deg.]  miles to Tahoe...and back on 
1 qt.!   and the car had 3.89's!...so the engine was reving 3800-42000 rpms 
most of the way...

Drove it 13k miles. before installing a "newer"  ultra engine!
