What you are referring to is what we would call a total
ground-up restoration. However what Chuck S is decsribing
would be called a complete "Factory stock restored" restoration
and many many Corvairs have been totally restored but not to
"Factory" specs. Do not use any "bedliner" material on your
40 year old unit body car. This will prevent breathing on the
areas that normally trap water or moisture and you would end up
with a Rhino exoskeleton and nothing else.
