Scott,
You should read Benzinger's explanation for the two piece flywheel in his 
1975 speech, available on line at CORSA HQ. As to whether the solid one is good, 
no one has ever performed any comparison tests to my knowledge. So you are 
sort of on your own. My personal thinking is that solid should not be used on 140 
and 145 CID engines, but will work OK on 164 CID engines. Why not use the 
solid and give us your experiences?
