When it quits, is there gas in the carbs?  It sounds as if they are running
dry.

If you know the tank and "sock" to be clean, you could look for an air leak
wherever rubber meets metal in the fuel supply line.  Or, (rare) the steel
line itself could have an air leak.  However, it might be easier to just
start with the fuel pump (replace it) and see if the problem is solved.
Only takes about 20 mins to change one out.  If not, more investigation to
do and you now have a spare fuel pump.
