when i do a blower bearing i take the housing off. if you invert it just
sitting on a vise and warm the inside of the housing all around the base the
bearing will drop out by itself with no force most times or just a slight push
with a screwdriver. then quickly put the new one in. it should push in by hand
about the correct hieght with very little effort and set right up as it cools
instantly.when you are done blow away the crud you loosened up with the heat. i
have done this for many years with no damage to housings as i have seen from
the forcefull ways of some... (i have sold a few housings to them) not
humble anymore(using hank's saying now!)
