Smitty says : If I'm not mistaken Mike Hartley wrote a tech tip for the Communique about "77" or "78" suggesting using the newly developed RTV (he worked for GE) to seal "O" Rings. The stuff he recommended was clear silicon which was about as oil resistant as gasoline. I think about the time the Communique was printed he was ready to retract his article but it's hard to unring a bell.
