Hank,

But he made his point using way less words. Got to give credit there.

On the Corvair side.....

CCE had the "Parking Lot Beauty Contest" this evening. This year, they
decided to have a "beater" award. I think that was done in order not to
leave anyone out of the "competition". It is done by vote of those present.

I dug "Icemobile" out of summer storage - put on regular tires (as opposed
to snows), cleaned the white walls, put on wheel covers, vacuumed the
interior, rattle can red on the thin paint areas, cleaned the glass using
carb cleaner (to remove the overspray) and sort of cleaned the interior
using glass cleaner and paper towels. Anyway, the car won the "beater"
award - hands down. Some of you may know this red '66 500, it won stock
class at Blackhawk farms with me behind the wheel - even though it was a
question mark during tech. So, this $600. car ($450 purchase plus another
$150 over the past 5 yrs) has now achieved two awards in the past 5 yrs.
I'm going to screw BOTH of those plaques to the dash. It DESRVES some good
treatment.

Heck, if I could afford it, I'd provide inside storage. Well, it did get a
new tarp this year! That will have to do for now.

Later, JR
'61 Rampside Standard 4/110
'65 Monza Convertible 4/140
'66 beater Coupe - icemobile 4/140 - recent award winner
