Details, Seth details.

According to Joel Whitburn (Bilboard magazines American top 40 expert)
Volare was a #1 hit in 1958 by Domenico Modugno and a # 12 hit in 1958 by
Dean Martin. It was also a # 4 hit for Robert Louis Ridarelli (you may
remember him as Bobby Rydell) in 1960. And last but not least, we must
remember the disco version that made it al the way to # 33 in 1975 recorded
by Al Martino.

Hey, how come nobody from Portugal has hit songs? :(

But the car you refer to is not the Voltaire but the Volare'

with the accompanying Dean Martin voice in the background.

So Seth writes:

I don't want to be too picky - but I will!!

"Volare" was recorded by Dean Martin - as titled - Dean probably recorded
every Italian song written at one time or another in his career.

But -

"Nel Blu, Dipinto di Blu" was recorded by Domenico Modugno - released in
1958 - My singing along with it at age 11 was probably the first Italian I
ever spoke!

Who would have thought it - Some song about a Blue Pinto! <grin> - Seth
