Well, Bill;

I'm not having any problems with the pertronix setup, with a high output
coil, Seth's wires, and Boschplugs. It works well for me.

I just saw this new system, and was curious if anyone had tried it and how
it worked.

I thought it would be a better thread than one about polit*cs.

Hey, Jim - The hotrodders motto "If some is good, more is better and too much
is just right!"

The only problems I see with the GM Parts piece. First, it requires a special
balancer, one with a pair of sensors on it, one for crank sensing and one for
cam timing. IT is doable on the vair, just tough. Second the box is $457 at a
discount, and the harness to use it is an addditional $85. Ouch. As I see it,
the next upgrade from a Pertronix ignition would be an HEI conversion
distributor. The small cap version, adapted by Warren, retains vacuum and mechanical
advance but changes to a magnetic trigger and a better cap design (for high
output spark). That's why I make a special wire set for HEI use on the Corvair.
