Aren't we building and driving Corvairs because they are supposed to be fun? Aren't we crazy enough for building and driving cars that caused many years of controversy?

My God, gentlemen... Get off of it...

If you truly want to hang your behind out in the wind and let everyone see what you are made of, forget CORSA... Go enter a Concours D'elegance and compete against what shows up. Find out what you're really made of. Park your beautiful 69 Corsa next to that museum maintained Porsche 550 with 6 original miles on it. See how you fare. Been there, done that. It sucks.

Enjoy your cars. Be proud of the work that you have done. Be proud that you have the inclination and the ability to maintain your cars to these levels. Most of all guys, have fun and dont try to change the world where you don't need to. We have enough going on around us that truly does need to be changed.

Having your car judged is a choice. You choose to participate under the rules that are in place, or you don't. There is not a single person on this list or elsewhere that is holding a gun to your head making you be judged. You choose to do it. Every one of the folks on this list and at Lexington will notice and appreciate a fine Corvair, whether its being judged in Concours or not. You enter Concours to determine your vehicle's "perfection" as compared to a pre-determined standard. You don't do it to come home with a first, second, third, fifteenth place trophy!!! First, second, third compared to what???

Winning a gold or a chairman's award for having a 98.37 point car and being recognized as the best compared to the recognized standard is a heck of a lot more precious and special than a first place trophy! When everyone can play by the same rules and be judged or compared against a documented set of standards, then and only then do you have a valid representation of perfection.

Relax, enjoy your passion. Make your car exactly the way you want it. Paint it like a cow, make a 67 Corsa Wagon, make a Stinger Vert, put Mercedes badges on a vair, whatever. Have fun. Life is way too short and special to be miserable because your car doesnt fit where you think it should. Don't like the rules? Sell your vair and buy yourself a vintage MB, Porsche, Corvette, Tucker, Auburn, Duesenberg, whatever. It is what it is.

Sorry for the bandwidth usage, but I, for one, have had enough...

Cheers.
