<VV> awards, Concours, and more...

Seems most prefer the "gold, silver, bronze" award system. No surprise
to me there. As I said, IMHO, I feel that it's a "feel good" system, so
who wouldn't like it?

Seth brings up autocrossing (no surprise there, either). If everyone
likes the "gold, silver, bronze" award system so much, how about using
it there? Cars that get a time of X or less get a gold, a time of
between X and Y a silver, etc. I'm sure that would please a whole heck
of a lot of people.

Then we could extend it to the other events, even the Cole award. Anyone
getting Z number of points or greater gets a gold Cole award, etc. Why,
we might even end up with a half dozen happy gold Cole award winners!

Get real folks! In this world there are winners and there are losers.
Like in the show "The Apprentice" where one team wins and the other
loses. Often the losing team does well, but the winning team does even
better. Still, somebody on the losing team gets fired. That's life.
That's competition.

As for the concours award system, I can understand and appreciate what
everyone is saying. But I still feel that it is not as good as a "first,
second, third" system. Heck, I don't like losing in a concours judging
event any more than anyone else. But it's just the way I see it, and
everyone is free to disagree. 'Nuf said.
