Don't get me wrong, a little personality
is a good thing. But ask all the guys - many of whom are the MOST
KNOWLEDGEABLE Corvair experts around why they left. The forum drove
them out. If some of this would change, VirtualVairs would be better
for it.

I have talked with them all at one point or another. Folks, we are lucky that
our lifestyles support us being able to spend some time each day to engage,
inform, and yes, play once in a while on the computer. All of the "experts"
that left VV (or cut way back) did so because of the interference of the time
spent on VV with their real life. Their real life is repairing Corvairs - IT is
their livelihood - How they pay their bills and raise a family. They realized
that the time spent on VV was causing them financial loss or family time lost.
It was time spent not earning a living and not with their families. I do not
begrudge them that, and I don't believe that VV caused them to leave, via goofy
pet names or me-too posts. Yes there are some stupid threads that go no
place, but unless you perceive our Corvair experts as morons - and I don't - they
should be as fast as anyone to punch that delete key. We cannot be all things
to all people. There are other Corvair sites, as I recall. Some have the forum
style message boards. - Seth Emerson
