Subject: Trailering a Corvair

I have tried all the various ways to tie my Corvairs (LM) to the trailer. One
day, unfortunately, I had to have one of them towed by AAA and they sent one
of those trucks they roll the car onto and strap it down. The driver was very
informative and pointed out that even cars in the 60's have the special oblong
hole for them to hook their "t" hook into. It is located in the jacking area
both front and rear. I purchased these special "t" hooks from
Northern Tools or JCWhitney, I can't remember which, and attached them to some
chain and now it is quick, easy and secure when I tow them. Even my wife's
2003 Monte Carlo has those oblong holes both front and rear.
I prefer this over crawling under the car to strap down the crossmember or try
to find someplace secure to hook onto in the rear.
