<VV> GM Keyless Entry -- NO CORVAIR

I have a question about the keyless entry remotes that is on my 96 Chevy. I
think the battery is getting weak so my 2 part question is.

A. If you change the battery do you have to reprogram it ?

 

B. How do you program them ? I would like to get a second remote for my wife
and of course ebay always has them for sale but I wondered how to program a
unit that came from another vehicle.

 

Thanks as always, I hate to ask a non Corvair question but I'm sure someone
out there knows how to do it.
