I some time back owned a 1971 El Camino with a 350 engine that on occasion would not start after sitting for awhile with a hot engine. My cure was to carry a large bottle of water, and throw some on the starter to cool it off. Worked fairly well. Not very scientific, but it worked. Hard to do this on a Corvair. Cecil Mills
