<VV> Clutch Fork Stud

I have a '63 with the later model clutch and have always had trouble getting full disengagement with the proper amount of pedal play.  Seems like I have to push the pedal through the floor to shift easily into 1st.  I did replace the fork stud with a later model, and it helped.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has experience shimming the later stud up a bit for better disengagement.
