Okay members lets get some research going. I have known for several years that "SOME" engine lid supports were stainless steel. I have located two. Most are zinc plated. Both of the ones in my possession are from Willow Run cars. I have not done any real "research" on this, just looking and taking mental notes. Kinda like I'm doing on the galvanized rocker thing. But I can speak for two in my possesion. Who would know anything about this. Did Chevrolet just try different things ad hoc from time to time? Inquiring minds want to know. And by the way Marc, yes they polish up as nice as chrome.
