I'm looking for some advice on painting my Corvair based dune buggy. I've
painted cars, but it has been several years ago and I am most familiar with
applying lacquers and acrylic enamels. I haven't painted much fiberglass and wonder
what would be best. This is going to be a street buggy and is not a high buck
project. Is base coat clear coat the way to go? What does it take to apply?
Is the clear coat an isocyanate where breathing air would have to be supplied?
Would acrylic enamel work okay on the fiberglas? I've done quite a bit of body
work on the fiberglas to repair some minor holes and cracks. Will a normal
high build primer work on the glass? Is it best to prime the glass? As you can
see, I have lots of questions and need some advice from those that have the
expertice.
Thanks,
Chuck
