<VV> Throttle linkage

Well I LIKE my center mount 4 barrel...mine is a Carter AFB. As for
linkage, I mounted the carb in such a way as to need a linkage that pulled
rather than pushed. On Corvair cars, when one steps on the gas pedal, a rod
running the length of the tunnel is pushed toward the rear of the car to a
pivot point under the rear seat (but on the underneath side of the car).
That pivot causes the linkage to become a pull instead of a push. But that
only lasts from under the rear seat to the side of the transaxle where
another pivot causes the linkage to once again be a push.

All in all, a lot of parts, a lot of weight, and a lot of pieces to wear.

So for my 4-barrel's linkage, I kept the factory linkage only through the
pivot under the rear seat. Everything else I removed. Then I determined
the length of a cable that I would need, went to a motorcycle shop and found
a clutch cable that was the perfect length. I had to fabricate a bracket at
each end of the cable to locate/lock-in-position the cable housing. My
throttle cable works very smooth.

My center mount (IECO brand) came with a piece of linkage that looked as if
it had been in a bad wreck. I threw it away about 21 years ago.
